"This fall, his inner circle will pay him back. On Nov. 18, the 4,000-square-foot Box Gallery in West Palm Beach will host “Aesthetics and Surrealism,” a 10-year retrospective and de Beaufort’s first solo exhibition. Paired with his paintings will be new performance-art piece “Macroaggression,” in which 20 nude men and women covered in red and blue body paint will hold machetes and pitchforks. It’s an idea he says carries obvious political overtones but also themes of tribal identity, masculinity and gender."
