Kitsch and Kulture at The Box Gallery, located at 811 Belvedere Road, West Palm Beach, Florida, explores three decades of work by four exceptional artists that have left an indelible visual account of South Florida’s Kitsch Kulture of the 60-90’s era . The exhibition, co-curated by Rolando Chang Barrero and Sandra Schulman, opens with a reception on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 7 PM and has been extended through September 2, 2017.

“Hashim's cool photographs are a wild, free-falling flashback to South Florida in the late ’70s and early ’80s. To those who weren't there — and don't believe what they've heard — this book is proof that it wasn't fantasy. It was real.”
-- Carl Hiaasen, novelist, Miami Herald columnist

PAJARO PINS

The Best Paying it Forward Gift!

Martin Badger contacted me to order 1 pin and to have it sent to him in Columbus, Ohio. Moments later he contacted me again to add two more pins to his order, but wanted me to give them to a couple of his friends here in Florida.

"Oh boy am excited just tell them I bought them ,free of charge for them, thank you bunches would love to just see a smile all around !"-Martin Badger"Please note these are pay-it-forward gifts... I ask only what you can afford to make someone else's day too... The expense in which for me to do this is sooo little just ask maybe give a hug to a loved one when normally wouldn't but that is fully up to you and is only said for my own personal Karma that it in turn maybe will be a chain to more good, not that it has to happen just has to be said in hopes!!!" -Martin Badger

Only minutes later I received a third request, to make 4 other individuals smile.

For quite some time I have been thinking how can I bring together all the amazing people I have met for a least one night.
I didn't want it to be just an art opening, nor a music festival, nor a business meeting, nor a recovery based program, nor anything else, but a party where we can all just say hello to each other and share who we really are without the cloak of what we do, or what we represent.
One extraordinary night where we celebrate each other as people, as individuals. Where everyone and no one is the host of of the party...Where we can introduce our friends to each other because great people should know each other...
The Unity Bash is what my friend, Chris Bivins, and I came up with. A party that is all inclusive...hence the tagline " A Full Spectrum Gathering," We have looked at the amazing camaraderie that our youth is exhibiting among themselves, their amazing and unprecedented acceptance of each other, so we decided to celebrate them and introduce them to you at The Unity Bash.
Are goal is bring together youth and adults for a meaningful fun filled evening. We invite you to celebrate with us on Labor Day Weekend--because the labor of building community and mending fences should be celebrated.
