The Box Gallery is proud to announce that William Reed will be joining the cadre of professional artists this season at the Belvedere Road location with selection of mid-size works in July.
Reed's larger public artworks will be available at
The Box Gallery Unleashed WPB, Rolando Chang Barrero's newest gallery that is expected to open in early January 2018. The Box Unleashed WPB will provide public artists a magnificent space to showcase and sell large scale works.
William Reed majored in fine arts at Portland State University
specializing in clay and stone sculpture under the tutlage of
Fredrick Littman and James Hansen.
He worked as a professional stone sculptor in Montreal and
moved to Italy in 1979 after participating in the 3rd International
Sculpture Symposium in Carrara. Living there for
almost 10 years he furthered his vision in stone and gained
vital knowledge of techniques.
He returned in 1986 to the U.S. to teach and work to help
others express in stone their creativity. He established work
shops for local stone carvers and lectured on the importance
of 3-dimensional stone carving in the Virginia Beach area.
In 1993 Willie moved to downtown Boca Raton, FL and with
his life partner Jane, opened a professional studio teaching local stone carvers. His award winning work is represented
in permanent exhibitions and private collections all over the
world.
