An exhibition of fine art photography, wearable art,
and lifestyle accessories featuring FLAVIO IRYODA

FLAVIO IRYODA is a fashion photographer who specializes in haute couture editorials. Born in Brazil from a Japanese family, his photographs have been published internationally in the US, South America and Europe.
With a peculiar taste of the unexpected and tendency to break the typical clichés, Flávio believes there are no boundaries to express fashion through photography. Uncertainty, confusion and unease drives his desires to create curiosity (or disgust) for those who experience his work.

"I’m here to confuse, not to explain"
José Abelardo Barbosa de Medeiros

In 2013, together with his late business partner and close friend Christopher Makris, they imagined a group of highly skilled and reliable professionals to fulfill the most diverse creative desires from their clients, since conception until final production. What would be our small "fashion family" has evolved into...  Avessa!
Today, along with his business partners Araceli Bravo and Carlos Marrero, we have a team of six professionals that include creative director, hair stylist, make-up artist, fashion stylist and video & photo editors.

About the Artists and Designers:

Barabara Hulanicki:

Barabara Hulanicki will be exhibiting her fashion illustrations as well as new designs at High Gloss.
Barbara Hulanicki was the Queen of the Swinging 60s with her hip shop Biba. From dressing Twiggy, Brigitte Bardot, David Bowie, Marianne Faithful and the Rolling Stones, she made her name with the cult fashion brand she started with her husband Stephen Fitz-Simon ("Fitz"). Epitomizing swinging London in the 60s, the first boutique opened in Kensington in 1964.

Ash Rana was born in Kathmandu, Nepal. He attended high school in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan where he grew up loving Western pop music and Bollywood movies, attending temple services where women wore silk saris with t-shirts, and men donned blazers over kurtas, traditional baggy drawstring pants and long shirts - a mix of ancient custom and improvised modernity that would forever inspire his work. Rana left Asia to study fashion design and illustration at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. After graduation he veered into nightlife, working as a performer and door personality at clubs and restaurants in New York and later South Beach. In 2000 he launched his fashion company, Ash Rana Inc and designed clothing for major pop acts including Colombian rocker Juanes, country singer Tim McGraw, and rap stars Lil Kim and Trina.
Ash travels regularly to Asia where he collaborates with local artisans on beaded and hand loomed fabrics as well as collecting heirloom fabric pieces that he incorporates in to his current work.
