Investing in Women's Art

MaiYap, artist, art instructor and consultant, produces high quality innovative paintings that manifest her social and environmental concerns. MaiYap is a master colorist with 30 years of experience painting oils in a variety of techniques, ranging from realistic flowers utilizing traditional brushes to landscapes and abstracts done exclusively with palette knives. She is the founder of Palette Knife Artists of Miami and has helped to expand art programs in the cities of Palmetto Bay and Miami. She has a degree in Advertising and Graphic Design from the University of Georgia. She teaches art at prestigious Fairchild Botanical Gardens.
Her work has been exhibited in more than 100 galleries, museums, and
fairs around the world.
Among her most recent awards are first prize at Wynwood Biennial 2020, first prize at the NLAPW Biennial in Washington, DC and finalist at the Norwegian Cruise Line & Nader Museum Award. Her work is on permanent collection at The University of Miami, Florida International University, the Haegeumgang Museum in South Korea and
El Museo de Arte El Salvador.
Suzanne Scherer, studied at the renowned Moscow Surikov State Academy Art Institute—one of Russia’s two institutions of higher arts education and part of the Russian Academy of Arts established in 1757 by Peter the Great. Scherer earned a BFA from Florida State University, an MFA from Brooklyn College, and received an International Research & Exchanges Board Award to be the first American visual artist accepted into the Russian Academy of Arts during the Soviet period. At the age of 11, Ouporov won admittance into the Moscow State Academy Art Lyceum, graduated at 18, and earned a Master of Fine Arts from the Moscow Surikov State Academy Art Institute.
