West Palm Beach-The Box Gallery will be presenting “ Las Orishas de Cuba” an exhibition of paintings and woodblocks by Cuban artist, Alberto Piloto Pedroso accompanied by a violin performance by Ernesto D’ Marquez at 7 p.m. opens with a reception on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 6 p.m.
The exhibition includes over 40 paintings and hundreds of woodblock prints created in the last 30 years of Piloto Pedroso’s career as a visual artist.
Pedroso juggled a dual career as a ballet dancer for Fernando Alonso’s Ballet Company and as a visual artist in Camaguey, Cuba until he suffered and injury that ended one career and skyrocketed the other internationally.
Piloto’s unique use of hypodermic needles to create accents and textures on his canvases has brought him much recognition among many collectors.
Exhibition opens with a reception on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 6 p.m.
